This information is meant to provide some basic information concerning Naturopathic, Holistic and Integrative Care provided by Southern Integrative and Environmental Medical, LLC. It is not written by a Physician but rather a patient in hopes of explaining the approach in a non scientific manner.
Integrative Medicine can help you heal with an approach that differs from your typical care in the US based healthcare system. It does not mean one is better than the other, just that they are differ in a number of ways and depend on different approaches. Most Naturopathic Care includes and is based on an Integrative approach that takes into account a higher number of variables and points of view than others. The Root cause and a deep understanding of the body’s processes are other key components to Naturopathic Care. In short, the Naturopathic approach Treats the Whole You. Additionally, Naturopathic and Holistic Care encourages and supports the body to use its own processes to help the individual heal. We know these processes are available to do their job but may be in varying states of health. Part of the approach is meant to identify the root cause through highly scientific means and labs as well as a thorough understanding of the patients problem and lifestyle as well as health history. Typical first appointments run between 1.5 and 2 hours to discuss the details of the individual and their health problems. From there, the Physician can help the body perform its job in an efficient and effective manner by applying a variety of modalities and approaches. It is inherent that the body can heal otherwise we would not be here as a species and the body is brilliant in its ability to attack the problem. Your body is built to heal!
